Default gold tips

well gold tips seam to be the most popular. How are they for use on 3-D target. Are they had to pull out or not bad.

Default Carbon Express

Carbon Express for a few years now. Aluminum are supposed to be straighter but I have only Robin Hooded one aluminum compared to seven times with Carbon Express arrows.

Default Beeman venture

Cheap, but effective. Looks like they quit making them though. Now what? Darn, guess I need to go shopping.

Gold Tip 7795 Hunter XT's with a wrap and 2" blazers. I love this set up and it shoots great in 3D, they are a little tuff to pull, but I always use arrow lube anyways.

Default gold tips for me

I shoot gold tips but had a little problem last week. Must of had a batch of nocks as on the 6th time or so I shot these arrows, I had two nocks break in half in a row . The dealer gave me a hand full of nocks problem solved. They shoot well for me.

I shoot gold tips at ducks and small game. Big game and target I'm shooting the "Arrow dynamics" "Hammerhead". The last 2/3rds of the arrow are tapered producing an extreme wight forward arrow that flies like a dart out of every bow from 30 to 65 pounds I own. They also have out penetrated the gold tips by 50-60% in my own experiments using foam, a pork shoulder and a set of buffalo ribs that had gotten freezer burned. The difference in penetration seems to become more pronounced with heavier draw weight bows.

I went to carbons in 2004 and I shoot the GT Hunter XT 7595 w/ 2" Blazers and love 'em. With my little 100gr NAP Nitron at 290fps from a 70# Hoyt, they've cleanly blown through caribou at 61 and 52yds and right through moose at 28 and 51 yards. Even shot a coyote with one (right through the side of its head and sticking 20" out the other side at 23yds) 4 years ago on a moose hunt on Ft. Rich. Smoked his ---! So I'd venture to say that that's pretty good penetration Rick P. Can't say I ever bird hunted with them though. Maybe someday...
Same style/type arrows for the 3D and target shoots too. So far so good. So they work great for me on everything. They're accurate and with a little Woody's arrow lube, pulling 'em isn't a problem either. If it ain't broke, I don't fix it.
